Don't think we will get a summer this year and here is me hoping to spend this last week of freedom basking in the sunshine. My other half retires on Friday so is he in for a shock when he finds out what I get up to in a day. Am p[lanning to make his retirement card in the shape of a boxing ring with our heads transposed on to a couple of boxing images. I wonder why!
Last week five of us went to a Promarker class in the capable hands of Debbi, but poor thing was not feeling well and am sure she would rather have been tucked up in bed but she soldiered on. Well to put our new found skills into practice had my friends round for a colouring day. This was an image I coloured in after they had left as was not pleased with my finished results. She is called Honey Pip from Sugar Nellie and because it is a fairly big stamp decided it looked better on an easel shaped card. Of course she is coloured in with Promarkers so any constructive critisism will be greatfully received. The papers used are reversible but for the life of me cannot remember where I got them from. Martha Stewart border punch, nestie shapes, beads, lace and ribbon all from my stash.
Very bleak outside, raining and cold.
This card was made for a lady who was 70 but did not want the number on any of her cards. Gosh it's only a number! The ribbon, flower stamps, coloured card are all from Stamping Up. Have used this design before but tried it in a different colour and find it looks much warmer.
This was made for my friend who once was told she had a volumptuous bottom so couldn't resist using this stamp. Not that I am inferring that she has a bottom like an elephant!
Am so looking forward to Debbie's class next Saturday so that I can get more tips using promarkers. Need a lot of practice. Most of the stuff I have used were bought at Elgin and never remember to keep a note of what I use, so that's not much use, is it?lilyfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06247462041731236500noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8161420592478259900.post-75873921466827390322012-05-21T07:48:00.001-07:002012-05-21T07:48:34.414-07:0070th BirthdayMy visits to my blog are few and far between but here I am again on a lovely sunny day. Just back from a long walk and feeling quite exhausted.
This is a card I made for a friend to her friend. As usual am pretty vague with all the materials used as I never keep wrappings. The papers are from a 6x6 pad which I bought in Elgin as were the little flowers, the swirl is from a nestie set and this is the first time I have used it. The ribbon is recycled and the gems are from my multiplying stash.
Had a lovely day with my grandkids, we played joker, jenga, made things with wire, painted our eggs and then went and rolled them. Will have them again tomorrow so will have to think about something else to do - they do like having a look through my stamps and stamping.
This card was made for a lady who has just had a stay in hospital.
The frame stamp was one I bought at the show in Glasgow and managed to fit another stamp inside it for the message. Can't remember the name of the heart embossing folder, but I really like this one, Finished it off with heart embellishment and ribbon, all from my stash, the flowers are from Wild Orchard.lilyfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06247462041731236500noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8161420592478259900.post-87620801999922418582011-12-02T00:33:00.000-08:002011-12-02T00:33:13.355-08:00Fun RunGosh excelling myself this week, blogging two days in a week. Not much further on with the xmas cards so it doesn't look as though I will be able to make 60 cards before the 25th, had these all done last year in record time, I have however got the bought ones all addressed and ready to post. The year has passed so quickly and unfortunately next year I will be in another age bracket, so not looking forward to that.

Aud's card was a Kanban stamp, not much image to actually colour in so struggled with the shading.
DH on holiday and we have the g children all day so we have to wait and see where they want to go and then we will pack up the car for a little trip. No doubt the toy shop will have to be in the horizon. We were looking for conkers with them yesterday, playing shoppies and oh lots of other things that they like doing. The 4 year old phoned me on Friday night to see what I was doing but when I asked her what she was doing she said"talking to you granny" Guess who felt a numptie!
Pity I had so much to do inside that I didn't get a chance to enjoy it. Have managed to find my dining room table to do some crafting today and this is the end product.
Still living in a mess - although things are beginning to take shape - painters in doing all the staining - so am confined to the back room today. Upstairs toilet almost finished but joiner is on holiday for two weeks. We still have to nail up a big blanket on our bedroom at night to save the neighbours seeing into our room! Husband not too fussy about how he wanders about so don't want them to get a laugh especially as one of the neighbours is recovering from a heart attack. Had a lovely day out with Carol and Aud on Monday and we paid a visit to Crathes to see the lovely Anne. Had a great day.
Had to empty a wardrobe and pile the contents on the top of our bed and the other room is in total chaos. Anyone got a tent for hire?

<img border="0" height="320" i$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnXz76T8jWsl4cf3TO8owDrLPPstwvcW33UwIrV9hdrprkP0H29whfMnF63vkPsAhemm1Hb8K5aM-pHQLqkOOScN8wHvO3_fwi4qmydud87ZuGwwLfZTBrNKZDQpb5Wv6ITdD5iUG_VHY/s320/Cheryl+in+prom+dress.+JUne18+2011.jpg" width="239" />
Well the one exciting thing this weekend was my grand-daughter had her prom dance at the weekend in Aberdeen - what is exciting about that do I hear? Well this girl has never worn a dress since she was 3 years old and here she is all dressed up with her three friends (she is the one with the red hair!!!!!!) I see her dog had to get in on the act too. Made her dad feel very old.lilyfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06247462041731236500noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8161420592478259900.post-61956113418242868642011-06-13T01:05:00.000-07:002011-06-13T01:05:11.858-07:00Golden weddingThis is another card I made this weekend, it started off as an easel card and somehow or other got black marks over the back of the card - had no more of the same and it was too big to put on to a A4 card so this is what I finished off with. Oh the trials of a cardmaker.
We are stuck through in the kitchen today as the men are working elsewhere. I mean stuck - we shut the door and forgot that there were no handles and couldn't find anything to get the blooming thing opened! Oh well joiner to the rescue!
This is a new card I made for a friend with pink petticot image and coloured with promarkers, forgot to take a note of the colours.
Good excuse for not doing housework at the moment, my dear son has at last put his men up to do some work on our house, when he did up the bathroom last June, he decided that he would put on an oak door, well have had to do all the rest of the house too. I hope he realises that once we get all this done, there wont be much inheritance left for him and his brother. Not looking forward to picking paper, curtains, carpets etc. Last week we celebrated my mother's 90th birthday - the whole family visted her at the home where she is staying and she lasted out pretty well. She had been telling the rest of the residents she was going to be a 100 and they all said she looked good for her age, she says now I know why! We had a lovely day although I am sure my two teenage grandchildren were bored stiff with us old stodgers.
This is a card I made for my friend's grandson.
However the price to pay for this is that I am running around like a headless chicken trying to get tidied up before we set off to Decora in the afternoon. Still find time of course to go on the old computer - dh thinks I should take it to bed. Probably would be more interesting!
My grandson - he fell of a swing a couple of weeks ago so had to take a picture of him with his cast - not happy because it was green as he does not support Celtic.lilyfhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06247462041731236500noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8161420592478259900.post-36809739319051010632011-04-13T11:26:00.000-07:002011-04-13T11:26:19.216-07:00A birthday card for HelenWell it looks like the fine spell of weather has gone. Pity because we are having my bil and sil from Wales staying with us for two weeks as from tomorrow. Have been in Mrs Scrubber mode these last few days trying to get all the jobs done that I don 't seem to have time to do or for that matter the inclination. Like everything tidy when they arrive and then it doesn't matter for the rest of their stay. Wont have time to make any cards but will try and catch up with all you bloggers.

This card was made for my friend Helen who had a birthday yesterday.
I will never forget the day that Carol has led me to this blogging life - the day of my grand-daughter's 18th birthday. Time flies, it seems no time since she was just a little girl and here she is now a lovely girl with pink hair at the moment! Oh well granny you had your mad moments too when you were young.
