Fun Run

Gosh excelling myself this week, blogging two days in a week.  Not much further on with the xmas cards so it doesn't look as though I will be able to make 60 cards before the 25th, had these all done last year in record time, I have however got the bought ones all addressed and ready to post.  The year has passed so quickly and unfortunately next year I will be in another age bracket, so not looking forward to that.
The card today was made for a friend for her son.   The image is a download and the rest is from my stash of papers etc.

card for Carol

Well Carol had another birthday so it gave me the push I needed to go and take the crafting stuff out of it's cupboard and then a few days later Aud was another year older so everything was put to good use.

Carol's card was a Funky Kit download, think this one is Connie, coloured in with promarkers, Martha Stewart edge punch used for border.

Aud's card was a Kanban stamp, not much image to actually colour in so struggled with the shading.

Golfer in a twist

Up bright and early today and the sun is shining.   DH on holiday and we have the g children all day so we have to wait and see where they want to go and then we will pack up the car for a little trip.  No doubt the toy shop will have to be in the horizon.    We were looking for conkers with them yesterday, playing shoppies and oh lots of other things that they like doing. The 4 year old phoned me on Friday night to see what I was doing but when I asked her what she was doing she said"talking to you granny"   Guess who felt a numptie!
Well this card is a Kenny K download which I thought was suitable for an avid golfer.  Coloured in with promarkers and paper used from my stash.

Baby boom

Gosh just realised that I have not been on here since August, where has the time gone?   Well have been busy getting the house back in order after son caused major havoc by changing doors, skirtings and what have you.   More or less back to normal - it has been worth it.

Have had a few baby cards to make recently so thought I would put them on here for a starter.

Little shopaholic

Hasn't it been nice having a bit warmer day after all that rain?   Pity I had so much to do inside that I didn't get a chance to enjoy it.   Have managed to find my dining room table to do some crafting today and this is the end product.
This card is for a friend's grand-daughter, who looks forward to getting a hand made card and is always most concerned that I do not add my name on the back of the card!

The image is a download from The Paper Shelter
Polka Dot candy
papers are from my stash.

Off to the Edinburgh Tattoo on Wednesday with our Over 50 Club, staying overnight and then a wee shop Thursday morning before heading home.

Diva Friend

Gosh where has the time gone, not been posting for a while nor yet carding. Still living in a mess - although things are beginning to take shape - painters in doing all the staining - so am confined to the back room today.  Upstairs toilet almost finished but joiner is on holiday for two weeks.  We still have to nail up a big blanket on our bedroom at night to save the neighbours seeing into our room!  Husband not too fussy about  how he wanders about so don't want them to get a laugh especially as one of the neighbours is recovering from a heart attack.  Had a lovely day out with Carol and Aud on Monday and we paid a visit to Crathes to see the lovely Anne.  Had a great day.
Now the card, this was a very last minute card-

The blue spotted paper was in my stash  - cut with a Fiskars all round punch.
The lady is a download
Flowers from Wild Orchid
Leaves made with Martha Stewart Punch.

Surprise surprise

No cards made this weekend at all, still in a muddle and don't know where we are going to sleep tonight.  Had to empty a wardrobe and pile the contents on the top of our bed and the other room is in total chaos.   Anyone got a tent for hire?
Well the one exciting thing this weekend was my grand-daughter had her prom dance at the weekend in Aberdeen - what is exciting about that do I hear?  Well this girl has never worn a dress since she was 3 years old and here she is all dressed up with her three friends (she is the one with the red hair!!!!!!) I see her dog had to get  in on the act too.  Made her dad feel very old.

Golden wedding

This is another card I made this weekend, it started off as an easel card and somehow or other got black marks over the back of the card - had no more of the same and it was too big to put on to a A4 card  so this is what I finished off with. Oh the trials of a cardmaker.
How the styles have changed in wedding dresses but don't they look nice.

New home

Well what a horrible day here, my other half is on holiday this week so going off for a few days to a lovely hotel near Ayr so hope there are craft shops nearby and the weather improves.  We are stuck through in the kitchen today as the men are working elsewhere.  I mean stuck - we shut the door and forgot that there were no handles and couldn't find anything to get the blooming thing opened!  Oh well joiner to the rescue!
This is a new card I made for a friend with pink petticot image and coloured with promarkers, forgot to take a note of the colours.
The papers used are from a book I bought at the shop in Elgin and think it was called - for the boys or men!

Little boy blue

Well it seems ages since I managed to post anything to my blog, what have I been doing, not a lot.   Good excuse for not doing housework at the moment, my dear son has at last put his men up to do some work on our house, when he did up the bathroom last June, he decided that he would put on an oak door, well have had to do all the rest of the house too.   I hope he realises that once we get all this done, there wont be much inheritance left for him and his brother.  Not looking forward to picking paper, curtains, carpets etc. Last week we celebrated my mother's 90th birthday - the whole family visted her at the home where she is staying and she lasted out  pretty well.  She had been telling the rest of the residents she was going to be a 100 and they all said she looked good for her age, she says now I know why!   We had a lovely day although I am sure my two teenage grandchildren were bored stiff with us old stodgers.
This is a card I made for my friend's grandson.
Funky kits digital stamp
Nestie shape - distressed with stormy sky
Nathan coloured with promarkers
and three heart buttons from my stash

apologies to Kath for the distressing
Debbi for the colouring in with promarkers
and
Anne for only tying a bow on one of the  buttons!!

the love of my life.

My little grand-daughter will be 4 on Friday and this is the card I have made for her.   All very plain and simple as mummy does not like overly fussy cards.

Jamie Oliver watch out!

My grandson of 15 is very into cake making and these are two he made recently, the white one for christmas and the handbag one for his mum's birthday.  Fairly puts his granny to shame.   My husband did most of the cooking when I was working full time and my grandson was so worried when granda had to go away, ! " what would granny get to eat when granda was not at home" Who would cook for her!   Mind you if my husband had not been doing the cooking all those years I  could have been a size 0.

Distressing Card

Wouldn't know what sort of day it is going to be today but managed to have a long lie in, which was really nice.   However the price to pay for this is that I am running around like a headless chicken trying to get tidied up before we set off to Decora in the afternoon.   Still find time of course to go on the old computer - dh thinks I should take it to bed. Probably would be more interesting!
This is a card which I have done using distressed inks and hero arts stamps.

having a little break

Have had a break from blogging, what with visitors and other distractions and here is another wee chap who has had a break too.  My grandson - he fell of a swing a couple of weeks ago so had to take a picture of him with his cast - not happy because it was green as he does not support Celtic.

A birthday card for Helen

Well it looks like the fine spell of weather has gone.   Pity because we are having my bil and sil from Wales staying with us for two weeks as from tomorrow.   Have been in Mrs Scrubber mode these last few days trying to get all the jobs done that I don 't seem to have time to do or for that matter the inclination.  Like everything tidy when they arrive and then it doesn't matter for the rest of their stay.  Wont have time to make any cards but will try and catch up with all you bloggers.

This card was made for my friend Helen who had a birthday yesterday.

Background distressed with Antique Linen
Hero Arts Dots
Hero arts typewriter stamp
Ribbon and flower from stash(a bit squint!!!!)

This is an engagement card I made for an order.  Image is an Owl for all occasions download. The embossing folder used I got from Helen, can't remember the name at the  moment but it is a lovely one.   Flowers are from Wild Orchid crafts, ribbon from stash and the nestie shapes are distressed with Faded Jeans.

Had a lovely afternoon yesterday at Huntly with the lovely Debbie.   She makes everything so easy.  Hope it wont be too long before she comes back again. Thanks Aud for arranging these crafty afternoons.

BABY BOY

Gosh my 2nd day of blogging and already I am hooked.  I will never forget the day that Carol has led me to this blogging  life - the day of my  grand-daughter's 18th  birthday. Time flies, it seems no time since she was just a little girl and here she is  now a lovely girl with pink hair at the moment!  Oh well granny you had your mad moments too when you were young.

This card was one of three I made for a friend.    I am not a fancy card maker and always scared I put too much on, however I rocked the boat and added some flowers.

The card is from Craftwork cards
The baby image is the new Funky Kit images
Two nestie shapes
the papers are Sweet Pea from fancypants design
Flowers from Wildorchid Craft
Ribbon and beads from my stash

No time to waste now, off to the Theatre to see Hairspray with a lovely bunch of ladies from our Over 50 Club, then stop on the way home for our tea.

Card made for my mother

The stamps used are stamping up for the flowers - and as I take my clear stamps out of the packaging, have no idea about  the butterflies.   Ribbon from my stash, the silver beads are from Joy Crafts and Martha Stewart border punch.

Newbie

Well I have finally taken the plunge to join the land of the bloggers.  My good friend Carol has got me up and running so bear with me if I make any blunders. She may have a lot to answer for yet!
